With effect from 1 November 2022, the Government of the Czech Republic has decided to set quotas for the receipt of applications for employment cards and long-term visas for business purposes by amending Government Decree No.220/2019 Coll. of 26 August 2019 in order to ensure the availability of labour for the Czech labour market and the related concept of targeted economic migration.
The main objective of the concept of targeted economic migration is to strengthen the inflow of skilled labour from selected countries to the Czech Republic.
For the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi, an annual quota of 70 applications for a long-term residence - employment card, an annual quota of 600 applications for the Qualified Employee Programme and an annual quota of 8 applications for a long-term visa for business purposes have been set.
This quota is non-exceedable, i.e. the embassy may not accept more applications than the number set by the Government Regulation.
The quota will be evenly distributed over 12 months. The method of making an appointment for the submission of applications is published on the Embassy's website in the Visa and Consular Information section.
