Eighth “Environment for Europe” Ministerial Conference in Batumi

On 8 – 10 June 2016, the 8th Ministerial Conference of the “Environment for Europe” process took place in Batumi with the member States presenting their voluntary commitments aimed at improving air quality and greening the economy.
The Czech Republic was represented by Junior Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Jaroslav Fidrmuc, who discussed namely experience in the education towards sustainable development, and Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia Tomáš Pernický, who headed the delegation on behalf of Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic Richard Brabec who had cancelled for serious work-related reasons his working visit to Georgia and his participation in the conference.
