Since May 2026, officers of the Police of the Czech Republic have been deployed to Estonia’s eastern border as part of a Frontex operation. Equipped with a motorboat, they patrol a designated section of the Narva River. In doing so, they make a significant contribution to safeguarding the border between Estonia and Russia and to securing the external borders of the European Union.

Their involvement is highly appreciated by both the Estonian authorities and the Frontex agency. For the Czech police officers themselves, participation in the mission provides a valuable opportunity to gain experience in relatively demanding operating conditions.
