The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney announces a Consular Day taking place in Melbourne 2 July 2026, during which it will be possible to lodge passport applications.

The Consular Day will be taking place at the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Melbourne at 511 Queensberry St, North Melbourne, VIC 3051.

During the Consular Day regular Consular services will be offered (verification of signatures and copies of documents, lodging applications for Czech Criminal Records, registry documents and Czech Citizenship Certificates, and applying to be included on the Special Voters' List):

  • Verification of signatures and copies of documents - more information here.

  • Lodging application for a Czech Criminal Record - this application cannot be processed on the spot (as we will not have access to the CzechPoint database); the Czech Criminal Record will be sent to the applicant via e-mail or post once we have returned to Sydney. More information here

  • Lodging applications for registry documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate etc.) - more information here. Applicants wishing to file these applications must contact the Consulate General in advance, to ensure they have all necessary documents prepared.

  • Lodging applications for Czech Citizenship Certificates - more information here. Applicants wishing to file this application must contact the Consulate General in advance, to ensure they have all necessary documents prepared.

  • Applying to be included on the Special Voters' List of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney. Applicants should bring their valid Czech National ID Card (občanský průkaz) or Czech Passport (an Australian ID Card can only be accepted provided the applicant does not have either of these documents). More information here.

It will also be possible to apply for a Czech passport using the portable station (currently being pilot tested).

If you wish to lodge a Czech passport application, please fill out this form. Passports of any applicants who applied through Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney, which have already been issued, will also be handed over during the consular day (the consulate will contact these applicants in the coming days). It is also possible to hand over an already issued passport via the Honorary Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Auckland as usual.
Note: at this point it is not possible to process Czech National ID Card ("občanské průkazy") applications using the portable station.

All potential applicants who are interested in lodging any of the above should contact the Consulate General at sydney@mzv.gov.cz in order to arrange a specific time and for details about where the Consular Day will be taking place. We would also ask the Czech community to spread this information to as many people who may be potentially interested as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation.
