Researcher's Guide to the Czech Republic
There is a wide range of research centres in the Czech Republic, many of which operate within the frame of international cooperation. Czech centres are also involved in scientific programmes organised by the EU.
The Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) was established in 1992 as a complex of 54 public research institutions. The primary mission of the CAS and its institutes is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of the natural, technical and social sciences and the humanities. Researchers of the Academy institutes also participate in education, particularly through doctoral study programmes for young researchers and by teaching at universities as well. The Academy also fosters collaboration with applied research and industry.
The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic is an organizational unit of the state that was founded for the purpose to support research, experimental development and innovation. The main task of the organization is to redistribute financial support from the national budget.
