Labyrinth 1968

On the occassion of the 50th anniversary of the Prague Spring the Embassy of the Czech Republic together with Czech Centres Stockholm and Slovak Embassy hosted a commemorative event at City of Stockholm Library on June 4, 2018 which was enriched by panel discussion “Navigating the Labyrinth of Fake News“ on very topical issue of propaganda, disinformation and fake news.

The guests witnessed the launch of the brand new multimedia game Labyrinth 1968 from the Czech studio 3dsense, which gave the audience the experience of navigating in the sea of propaganda.

The panel discussion „Navigating the Labyrinth of Fake News“ on propaganda, disinformation and fake news presented several notable speakers such as Mr. Jakub Kalenský from EU East StratCom Task Force, Mr. Mikael Tofvesson, from Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, Mrs. Emma Löfgren from The Local newspaper and Mr. Pierre Liljefeldt from Crisis Management Coordiantion Secretariat, Offices of Government. Mr. Jakub Janda from Kremlin Watch Program of Czech European Values think tank moderated the debate.

Besides the debate the guests could also see two exhibition “Prague Spring 1968“ prepared by Czech Centres in Stockholm and “The Story of An Image: Bare-chested Man in front of a Tank” prepared by Slovak Embassy. Both exhibitions, which interpret not only the events of 1968 but also the years before and after Prague Springs, are open to public at the Library for next two weeks.

Presentation of the new multimedia game Labyrinth 1968 represented the highlight of the evening. Everyone who had a Smartphone could try this game. Small size version of the game is also available at the Library for next two weeks.

The event was made possible thanks to generous support of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Czech Centres Stockholm and also thanks to partnership with companies Omnipol, Era, Pramacom, MediaTek, and others.
