During this grand ceremony (which has remained unchanged since the 18th century),  the Ambassador was driven in a horse-drawn state coach to the Royal Palace where a military band and guard of honour awaited. Inside the Audience Chamber, he presented his letters of credence to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf,  assuming thereby formally his position as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Sweden, and had an audience with His Majesty.

After the ceremony, the Ambassador hosted a vin d’honneur at the Embassy which was attended by officials from Swedish institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic corps and businessmen involved in Czech-Swedish trade and investment.
