As part of the 9th edition of the Timeless Festival in Stockholm, we invite you to experience this iconic sci-fi drama by Jindřich Polák, whose screenplay was co-written with Pavel Juráček. The Timeless Festival screens newly restored classics and anniversary films, creating a space for new perspectives and connections.

The authors were loosely inspired by Stanisław Lem’s novel The Magellanic Cloud when writing the screenplay. It is worth noting that they resisted the temptation to politicize the genre, which was common at the time. Instead of pitting two competing systems against each other, with an imaginary East and West, they presented hope for a better, morally superior humanity and the "riffraff" of the 20th century, who left behind only destruction.
