For the 24th year, the Council of Europe initiated the European Day of Languages (EDL), which promoted language education across Europe. It was celebrated on 26 September and organized by the European Centre for Modern Languages in Graz. Cultural institutes in Stockholm and other selected European countries prepared a colorful and playful program for students and the general public, helping participants discover the basics and unique features of various foreign languages.
In Stockholm, the European Day of Languages was celebrated on 30 September 2025 as part of the Language Café at Finlandhuset. High school students and other interested individuals joined the event, where short language courses were offered in more than twenty-five different languages, including Czech, Armenian, Esperanto, French, German, Ukrainian, Icelandic, and sign language. It was a fantastic opportunity for participants to try out new languages and experience the joy of linguistic diversity!
