On 17 August 2026, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm hosted its second Summer Music Afternoon, featuring Czech and Slovak musicians from the Confidencen Opera Orchestra under the direction of Artistic Director Peter Spišský.

Peter Spišský is a violinist, conductor, and professor based in Malmö. He is also the Artistic Director of the Confidencen Opera Festival, held at Sweden’s oldest Rococo theatre. The programme, titled “Dance Tunes: From the Baroque to Czech Songs,” featured a selection of Baroque compositions as well as traditional folk songs performed by festival artists. Alongside Peter Spišský (violin), the audience enjoyed performances by Ivana Šedová (soprano), Richard Šeda (flute and cornett), and Keren Bruce Westerlund (viola da gamba).

Visitors warmly welcomed both the enjoyable musical programme and the opportunity to meet fellow members of the Czech and Slovak community.

We would like to thank our partners for their cooperation in organising this event.
