Vernissage of the exhibition Olomouc – Photography and Painting

On 1st November the vernissage of the exhibition Olomouc – Photography and Painting took place. It was organized by the Swedish-Czech-Slovak society and the Czech Centre. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rudolf Smahel, a photographer from Olomouc.
Among the participants of the vernissage were the Czech compatriots and Swedish fans of the Czech photographer, as well as the ambassador Jiří Šitler. The exhibition is composed of historical photos of Olomouc and surrounding landscape by Rudolf Smahel and artistic photos by his daughter Jana Smahelová who follows her father’s path. The Swedish art is represented too, in the form of paintings by Anna Nordenskiöld, who is inspired by Rudolf Smahel’s works.
Both Jana Smahelová and her brother Rudolf Smahel said a few words about their father during the vernissage.
Czech wine was served to the participants. The exhibition is open till 15th November.
