
Screening of the film Václav Havel: A Life in Freedom

The Czech Centre in Stockholm together with the Embassy of the Czech Republic organized screening of the documentary Václav Havel: A Life in Freedom. The screening took place in the cinema Zita in the presence of the director Andrea Sedláčková on 25th October.
The full cinema hall with guests from the diplomatic corps, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Czech compatriots watched the document which follows Václav Havel’s life from his birth in 1936 till his death in 2011.
After the screening a discussion with the director Andrea Sedláčková took place. The Czech ambassador Jiří Šitler, Václav Havel’s former colleague, commemorated him as well.
The guests were served a glass of Czech beer at the entrance.
The screening was the last one of a serie of various cultural events by which the Czech Centre and the Czech Embassy commemorated Václav Havel as a politician, playwright and thinker during this October. It was possible to visit an exhibition and a documentary screening devoted to his life story and a theatre performance based on his works.
