Moravian and Czech Wines Promotion in Sweden

The Embassy in cooperation with CzechTourism Scandinavia & Finland and the Czech National Wine Centre carried out an economic diplomacy project (PROPED) to support the export of our wines to Sweden from 10 to 12 October. A MasterClass for Swedish sommeliers, writers and wine importers, another MasterClass for members of the renowned Swedish Wine Club Munskänkarna and participation in the Wine Table Fair - all these events had one thing in common: excellent wine and great interest from professionals and the public. The wine presentation was accompanied by a presentation of the Květná 1794 glassmaker glassworks.

Day One. MasterClass and Tours of South Moravia

Ambassador Anita Grmelová welcomed the MasterClass participants - sommeliers, writers, and wine importers. She introduced aims of the project, emphasized the quality of Czech and Moravian wines and expressed her believe that they will find, or have already found, their way to Swedish customers. Dagmar Fialová, sommelier and marketing director of the National Wine Centre, let the following MasterClass. Meanwhile, Lucie Vallin, Director of CzechTourism, and the travel writer Lina Skandevall, presented South Moravia and its 1,200 km of wine trails and cultural heritage to the professional travellers.

A joint reception followed, with presentations by representatives of the winemakers present, a verbuňk dance performed by the Brno ballet dancer Adam Baštář, a tasting of local specialities prepared by chef Otto Vašák and a presentation of glasses and jugs from the Květná 1794 glassworks.

Day Two. MasterClass for Members of the Renowned Wine Club Munskänkarna

In cooperation with club member Tomáš Vaněček, another MasterClass by Dagmar Fialová took place at the Embassy for members of the Munskänkarna Club. The Deputy Ambassador Jaromír Vejrych welcomed the participants, highlighted the quality of Czech and Moravian wines and, at the request of Munskänkarna members, presented the history of the Embassy. The MasterClass was followed by a reception and a presentation of the winemakers. The reception also included a presentation of glasses and jugs from the Květná 1794 glassworks.

Day Three. Participation in the Wine Table Fair.

The Wine Table Fair was a unique opportunity to present the Czech and Moravian wines to importers and wine lovers from Stockholm and other parts of Sweden.

Stávek, Vinařství SONBERK, Vinařství Špalek, Vinařství Plenér, Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora, Vinařství Krásná Hora, Vinařství Válka, Vinařství Oulehla, Vinařství Mikrosvín Mikulov, Vinařství Obelisk, Vinařství Gala a zejména Vinařství Volařík, Zámecké vinařství Bzenec a Vinařství THAYA!
