The Ambassador of the Czech Republic opened an exhibition about architect Kolar

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Bulgaria opened an exhibition - "Architect Adolph Vaclav Kolar - First City Architect of Sofia - 140 Years" together with the Director of the Museum Assoc. Prof. Veneta Handjyska and Deputy Mayor of Sofia Assoc. Prof. Todor Chobanov at 13 September 2018.
The exhibition was organized in partnership with the Bulgarian Development Bank and the State Archives Agency.
Antonin Kolar is the first chief architect of the new capital of the recently liberated Bulgarian state (since May 1878) and author of the first urban plan of Sofia.
In his time most of the iconic buildings in Sofia were built, such as the National Assembly, the Central Military Club, the Military School, Grand Hotel "Bulgaria", the first project of the railway station, the monument of the national hero Vasil Levski etc.
