On August 8, 2016, the Czech Ambassador Miroslav Rameš officially handed over a delivery of material humanitarian assistance from the reserve of the Czech Republic Fire and Rescue Service General Directorate to the director of the Protection and Rescue Directorate (DZS) Shaban Saliu.
The delivery intended for mitigation of the consequences of the floods from August 6 and 7, 2016, contained 47 pumps with the overall capacity/flow of more than 2 million liters of water/mud per hour and 8 electric power generators worth more than 44 thousand euros.
The transportation team of five members from the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic lead by Second Lieutenant Ondřej Šesták with his professional approach helped with the effective unloading of the material in the premises of the Goce Delchev barracks in Skopje, where the warehouse of DZS is located, and afterwards accompanied by the employees of DZS visited the flood hit areas.
