The Minister without Portfolio responsible for foreign investment, Zorica Apostolska met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in North Macedonia, Miroslav Toman on November 20, 2019.
At the meeting, they discussed the economic relations between the two countries, the conditions for investing in North Macedonia and their presentation to the Czech business community.
Speaking about the investment environment in the country and the Law on Financial Support to Investment, Minister Apostolska emphasized that the space for economic cooperation between the two countries is not exhausted, opportunities for its deepening exist in terms of stimulating investment climate which may be attractive for the Czech Republic companies to implement investment projects in North Macedonia.
"The improvement of trade exchange, which grew in the first nine months of this year by 9.3% compared to the same period in 2018, speaks of the positive economic confidence that exists between the two countries and at the same time can be a positive signal for Czech companies in North Macedonia to recognize their investment destination, " said Minister Apostolska.
Ambassador Toman emphasized that they are actively working to bring the economic communities closer and strengthen economic cooperation between the Czech and Macedonian companies, while expressing confidence that North Macedonia has much to offer in the railway industry and transport, textiles and agriculture.
It was mutually appreciated that the excellent political relations between the two countries, from the perspective of the support that the Republic of North Macedonia receives from the Czech Republic in Euro-Atlantic integration, lay a solid foundation for further upgrading of economic and investment relations.
