First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiří Kozák visited Singapore on 20–23 October 2025, to attend the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) conference and the parallel GovWare exhibition. The Czech Republic was further represented by the Special Envoy for Cyberspace, Marta Pelechová, and a delegation of the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) led by Deputy Director Tomáš Krejčí.
This year, the Czech participation was significant both at the conference and at the GovWare exhibition itself, where six companies operating in the field of cybersecurity showcased their solutions within the Czech pavilion: Blindspot, GoodAccess, HackedList, MyQ, Safetica, and Wultra.
The Czech footprint at SICW and GovWare
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiří Kozák spoke at the Singapore International Cyber Week as a keynote speaker during the opening panel dedicated to international cooperation in cyberspace. In his address, he emphasized the importance of cooperation between government institutions, the private sector, and academia in responding to current cyber threats. He also took part in a panel discussion focused on cyber diplomacy and its role in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
At the accompanying GovWare conference, Special Envoy for Cyberspace Marta Pelechová and NÚKIB Deputy Director Tomáš Krejčí presented Czech initiatives in capacity‑building and supply chain security.
The Czech Republic, the European Union, and the ESIWA+ project also co-organized a side event focusing on combating online fraud and scams.
This year, as part of the official participation organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and CzechTrade, the Czech Republic also presented a national pavilion at the GovWare exhibition. Representatives of six Czech cybersecurity companies showcased their solutions there. Deputy Minister Kozák personally supported the Czech companies and accompanied their representatives during meetings with potential Singaporean partners. The Czech pavilion was also visited by Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How.
Bilateral meetings with Singaporean and international partners
During his visit to Singapore, Deputy Minister Kozák met with international partners as well as representatives of Singaporean ministries and key institutions, including Minister of State Gan Siow Huang of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senior Minister of State Tan Kiat How of the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, and leadership from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the Temasek investment fund, and the defence company ST Engineering. Discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in cybersecurity, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, science, and research.
Potential for further development of relations between the Czech Republic and Singapore
The visit confirmed the growing importance of the Czech Republic in cybersecurity, innovation, digitalisation, research, and trade. The meetings highlighted the broad potential for deepening cooperation between the Czech Republic and Singapore, including through participation in international projects, scientific collaboration, and the development of business relations within the Indo-Pacific region.
