Czech art at the 14th Communicative Exhibition of Ink Paintings by Chinese and Overseas Friends

From 12.10 to 12.19.2023, the Communicative Exhibition of Ink Paintings by Chinese and Overseas Friends took place at the Marley Art Museum in Shanghai. This is the 14th edition of the exhibition organized by the Shanghai Hong Art Institute with the support of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Association Automotive Branch. It displayed 115 works by more than 20 artists from China and other countries. However, this year was exceptional, as it was also possible to see paintings from Czech artist Lucie Loosová, who presented selected works from her Chinese painting series "Mask" and "City at Dawn".

Lucie Loosová is one of the leading Czech scenographers and costume designers. Her productions are part of the repertoire of important Czech and foreign theater stages. At the same time, she teaches theater theory and practice. In addition to theater, she also works in photography, illustration, painting and sculpting. In 2014, she moved with her whole family to Shanghai, China, where she began studying local history, culture art and especially Chinese ink painting. Under the guidance of Master Zhou at the Hong Kong Art Institute, she completed her studies this year with a diploma and recognition of artistic competence in this field.

The exhibited works of Lucie Loosová at the Marley Art Museum give visitors the unique opportunity to glimpse the world of Chinese calligraphy seen through the eyes of a Western artist.
