Czech business delegation visited China International Import Expo and met with Chinese business partners in Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou.

From 4 November to 7 November 2019, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Radek Vondráček, visited the People’s Republic of China to attend the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. He was accompanied by a business delegation which, in addition to Shanghai, also visited Suzhou and Hangzhou.

On 5 November, business delegation, led by the President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Hanák, visited Suzhou Industrial park and a local company in the field of nanotechnology. In the afternoon Czech businessman visited the CIIE to explore the exhibition and attend parallel sessions of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.

The daily program finished in the Czech restaurant Bohemia Original Beer Restaurant, which hosted a business-networking event, attended by over 200 guests. On the Czech side, in addition to members of the business delegation, there were also representatives of Czech companies already operating in China, Czech exhibitors at CIIE, or delegation from the Ústí nad Labem Region. All of them had the opportunity to meet and establish business contacts with over 100 Chinese partners present.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Radek Vondráček, opened the event and announced the establishment of the Czech Chamber in Shanghai (CzechCham (Shanghai) Business Consultancy Co. Ltd, 捷商汇 (上海) 商务服务有限公司). The founding members subsequently finalized Establishment of the Chamber at a signing ceremony. In Addition, Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and CCPIT Hangzhou signed a Memorandum of Understanding, and companies Swonia and WZ Group signed one contract. During the whole evening, guests could taste traditional Czech dishes and Czech beer.

On 6 November, the business delegation traveled to Hangzhou to attend the Czech-Zhejiang business forum at Alibaba. Chinese partners were able to learn more about Czech companies and products they offer, at the same time Czech representatives gained better understanding on the opportunities Alibaba Group offers for Czech companies. The forum was finished with a networking sessions, providing everyone with the opportunity for finding new business partners and strengthening the Czech-China trade cooperation.
