The Saudi Safety and Security exhibition is de facto the only event in Saudi Arabia fully dedicated to security matters, especially on object security, special security services, civil defense, fire engineering and other relevant fields. During the exhibition, which was opened by Governor of Al Khobar Mr. Sulaiman Al Thunayyan, the two-day international conference on security was held. Dammam, forming a conurbation together with Al-Khobar and Dhahran, is the most important industrial location in Saudi Arabia where vast majority of oil and petrochemical, as well as defense and security industry of Saudi Arabia has its main plants. This fact alone determines that the safety is in this area is an important topic.

The Czech stand, set up under the auspices of the Czech Embassy in Riyadh and co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic, was the only official stand of the whole show. The participation of Czech companies, which was coordinated by the Czech Embassy in Riyadh together with the Thor Tactical Company, was given special attention. Official Czech participation was emphasized in all promotional materials for the exhibition. On the plan of the exhibition the Czech stand was highlighted by a red color.

A total of 7 companies sent their representatives to the exhibition. During the exhibition they could discuss distribution opportunities of their companies on the Saudi market with about two thousand professional visitors. Thanks to the appropriate location of the Czech stand and the attractiveness of the products offered at the Czech stand, practically every visitor or conference participant stopped at the exhibition.

In addition to Czech and Saudi domestic firms (including official participation of the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Civil Defense Organization), companies from USA, UAE, Turkey, India, Qatar, Egypt, China, Britain, France and Germany participated, as well. At a separate stand, the Czech Optokon Company presented its exposition.

The Czech participation was published in an article by a specialized Czech “Security Magazine” journal, both on its website and in printed form.
