Tomáš Kučerovský

Together with a few friends, the Czech architect Tomáš Kučerovský (1974) founded the comic strip magazine Aargh! in 2000 and Analphabet Books, a comic strip publishing company, in 2004. His work has been published in various anthologies and he has taken part in a great many international exhibitions. In 2008 he won the ‘Muriel' Prize for the best short story at the Komiksfest in Prague.

Tomáš Kučerovský is one of ten winners of the international Brussels in Shorts competition organised by Het beschrijf, in which ten cartoon strip authors / scenarists from Belgium and abroad have been given the opportunity to devise a graphic story on contemporary Brussels. For Brussels in Shorts, he is making a graphic report on his experiences, in combination with fictional stories and encounters, so as to create a contrast between his story and the expectations tourists have of Brussels. Tomáš Kučerovský is staying in Brussels from 30 April to 14 May 2012.
