Discover the Czech Republic “from A to Z”

The Permanent Representation hosts the launch of a new book by Jan Rubeš, professor of comparative literature at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

The Czech Permanent Representation to the EU with the Czech Centre in Brussels organizes the launch of a new, unconventional guide to the Czech Republic, entitled „PRAGUE ET LA TCHÈQUIE de A à Z“. The book by Professor Jan Rubeš presents key points of Czech history, tourist attractions, popular culture, historical figures and development of international relations, politics and economy of the Czech Republic.

The book is Professor Rubeš’ fourteenth publication about the Czech Republic and Czech literature. Rubeš also translated as many as fifteen significant Czech books, for example by L. Vaculík, Vá. Havel, J. Seifert, K. Čapek and J. Skácel.

The launch takes place under the auspices of the Czech Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Milena Vicenová, at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic in Brussels on Wednesday 6 April 2011 at 19.30. Apart from the author, the publisher André Versaille will be present.
