Czech Permanent Representation hosts an energy policy conference for the third time.
For the third time in recent years, the Czech Energy Day took place in Brussels. Although relatively young, the event has already gained the reputation of one of the most important meetings discussing European energy policy.
This was evident at the conference hosted, on Tuesday 5 October 2010, by the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU. The list of participants included the European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger, European Parliament's Vice-President Alejo Vidal-Quadras, the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kocourek and the Director-General of ČEZ Group Martin Roman. The participants were welcomed by Jana Reinišová, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the EU.
The key topics for discussion comprised the integration of European energy market, the failures of the market in the energy sector and the role of renewables in the transition of the EU to low-carbon economy as well as their influence on the price of electricity and the energy infrastructure.
The event is organised biannually by the ČEZ Group.
