Film commemoration of Václav Havel

Date: 17 January 2012 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM, Venue: Czech Permanent Representation, Rue Caroly 15, 1050 Ixelles

The Czech Representation hosts screening of documentary „Citizen Václav Havel Goes on Vacation“.

The Czech Centre in Brussels and the Czech Permanent Representation to the EU organise on Tuesday 17 January 2012 a screening of the documentary „Citizen Václav Havel Goes On Vacation“. The event, organised in commemoration of the recent demise of former Czech president Václav Havel, starts at 19:00 at the Representation ((Rue Caroly 15, 1050 Ixelles).

This 77-minute documentary recreates a trip around Czechoslovakia that its future president Václav Havel took in 1985 when he was still the country's most prominent dissident.

Entry to the screening is free of charge, but prior registration is necessary at brussels@czech.cz. The film is screened in original version with English subtitles.

Another event devoted to the former President will take place later this month. To launch a year-long series of screenings of Czech films organised by the Czech Centre, the Brussels cinema Styx will show, on Monday 30 January 2012 at 19:30, the documentary „Citizen Havel“ revealing the President's private moments and backroom dealings.
