
Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Ivo Šrámek held political consultations at Palestinian Foreign Ministry

Mr. Ivo Šrámek, Czech Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Multilateral Issues visited Palestine on May 9, 2017. Mr. Šrámek has led Czech delegation at political consultations on the level of deputy ministers held at Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ramallah.
Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Ambassador Dr. Amal Jadou, Assistant Minister for Europe and Ambassador Ammar Hijazi, Assistant Minister for Multilateral Affairs. Both delegations discussed broad range of issues including current internal political and security situation on Palestinian territories, regional developments and bilateral relationship between the Czech Republic and Palestine. Both parties positively assessed development of bilateral relations and expressed their interest to continue in deepening and broadening mutual ties. Participants have also discussed perspectives for resuming of the Middle Eastern Peace Process in the view of recent contacts with US administration and forthcoming visit of US president Donald Trump to the region.
Mr. Šrámek has also attended the presentation of PLO Negotiations Affairs Department focused on Israeli settlements in West Bank and development in East Jerusalem. On May 8, 2017 he met acting head of EUPOL-COPPS mission Mr. Mike Albers during working dinner organized by Representative Office of the Czech Republic in Ramallah.
