Minister Lipavský Presented Czech Projects that are Helping in Ukraine to his Ukrainian Counterpart

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the GLOBSEC conference, where the ministers took part in a joint panel, followed by bilateral talks. Minister Lipavský also introduced Czech companies assisting Ukraine to Minister Sybiha

During the meeting, the ministers discussed the continuation of Czech and European assistance to Ukraine and the continuation of the peace process. Lipavský and Sybiha also condemned the continued terror of Ukrainian cities through daily Russian air strikes with drones and missiles.

"I am glad that Europe has started to participate more in supporting Ukraine. Czechia will continue to play its role, including through its participation in the Coalition of the Willing and the continuation of the Ammunition Initiative. We want to deliver more large-caliber ammunition this year than in 2024 and continue this initiative in 2026," said Minister Lipavský.

Minister Sybiha appreciated the Czech assistance, especially regarding to arms cooperation and ammunition supplies. "Everyone in Ukraine knows what the Czechs are doing for us, and everyone appreciates your help," Minister Sybiha said.

The last time the ministers met was during President Zelensky's visit to Prague at the beginning of May this year. "The intensity of Czech-Ukrainian contacts shows how important and key a partner we are for Ukraine. Czechia will continue to be a reliable ally and partner of Ukraine, which is fighting an aggressive Russia on our behalf," said Minister Lipavský.

The ministers also discussed the process of Ukraine's rapprochement with the EU and NATO and the continuation and strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia. The Czech diplomatic chief assured Minister Sybiha that Czechia would actively support the adoption of the 18th EU sanctions package against Russia. As part of the new sanctions package against Russia, the EU aims to reduce the maximum price of Russian oil to deprive the Kremlin of the additional profits that are financing the war in Ukraine.

After the meeting, the two ministers had a look at a presentation of Czech projects and other activities that are supporting Ukraine and are implemented by Czech companies, NGOs, universities, and other Czech public institutions.
