Exhibition "UNESCO Sights of the Czech Republic"
The Embassy of the Czech Republic organized an itinerant exhibition devoted to the UNESCO sights of the Czech Republic in selected cities of the DPRK. The exhibiton was held in Pyongyang and Nampo in August and later in the seaside city of Wonsan in October 2007. All the opening ceremonies were attended by Ambassador of the Czech Republic Mr. Martin Tomco, representatives of diplomatic community, DPRK Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries of DPRK, city hall officials as well as by general public.
The
exhibition introduced all the twelve UNESCO acknowledged sights of
the Czech Republic, such as the historical centre of Prague, Cesky
Krumlov city or Telc city historical center. This was much
appreciated especially by the Korean guests, as for many of them
this was the first opportunity to acquaint with the rich cultural
heritage of the Czech Republic.
