Czech buses in Prishtina

The Czech company “Iveco Czech Republic, a. s.” and Mayor of Prishtina, Mr Shpend Ahmeti, have signed a contract on delivery of 30 buses of Czech provenance in the total amount of 5.9 million euros. The project is financed by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
 

A contract between the Czech company “Iveco Czech Republic, a. s.” and Mayor of Prishtina Mr Shpend Ahmeti on delivery of 30 buses of Czech provenance in the total amount of 5.9 million euros has been signed on September 7, 2016. There is an option for another 21 buses in the contract.  Czech company succeeded in the international tender and left Chinese and Indian businesses behind. Iveco will as well provide with the training of the drivers and with the maintenance of all buses.

“We are sure that this cooperation will open doors for another future cooperation,” Mr Jiří Škeřík, Iveco Balkans Market Manager, said at the press conference on the occasion of signing the contract.

“This project will radically improve the situation in the traffic,” Mr Shpend Ahmeti, Mayor of Prishtina, told at the press conference.

The public transportation in Prishtina, and in whole Kosovo, offers a great potential for its growth and the success of Czech company can be considered as a first step towards its development.
