V. Tesar, CdA, a. i. at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Phnom Penh attended the Royal Ploughing ceremony in Samong Khang Cheung Commune, Prey Veng Province.

The traditional royal ceremony, which was held under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, annually symbolizes "the opening of the arable land by the first plough". The ceremony was attended by members of the Government and the National Assembly, armed forces commanders, presidents of the central institutions of Cambodia and representatives of the municipal government, alongside representatives of the diplomatic corps. The ceremony which takes place every year in different country province has enjoyed considerable public interest and media attention.
