A very successful joint venture took place on April 08 10, 2016 in Ottawa at the prestigious Shaw Centre (www.shawcentre.com). The kiosk was well located, it was in the same section of the fair pavilion where other countries like Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Romania were located. On April 8 th the Czech Embassy hosted about 30 Canadian representatives from various tourist agencies, culinary ventures and prominent Ottawa media (members of the Travel Media Association of Canada, www.travelmassive.com) . In attendance were the commercial director and publisher, Vanessa Chaisson and Ryan Wright as well as Halina Player, the director of Player Expositions International, Inc. from Ottawa, who organized the fair. The evening was launched by the Czech Ambassador Pavel Hrncir, after which the director of Czech Tourism presented the Czech Republic, as an important and popular tourist destination.

There were more than 50 countries represented at the fair and at least 20 thousand visitors attended. There is growing interest by Canadians to travel to the Czech Republic and its capital Prague. Canadian tourism to the Czech Republic in 2015 has experienced a 12 % increase.

To further encourage tourism between Canada and the Czech Republic, Air Canada announced the launch of a direct flight from Toronto to Prague (www.aircanada.ca ). The

first flight will take place on Sunday, May 29, 2016.The Air Canada launch will coincide with the visit of chairman of the Senate from Czech Republic, Milan Stěch. He will have business travels to Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, Toronto and southern Ontario between May, 29 and June, 4 2016.
