
Joint Indo-Czech Research Projects

An Indo-Czech call for joint proposals under India-Czech Bilateral Program on Scientific and Technological Cooperation was issued by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology and by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MEYS) inviting Indian and Czech scientists to submit their proposals for joint research projects. 187 joint proposals were received against this Call. DST and MEYS jointly agreed to fund 20 high ranking projects.
On the Czech side the projects were evaluated by the Expert Advisory Body of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MEYS).
The projects supported shall be implemented in the period 2020 - 2022. They are focusing on information and communication technologies, natural sciences and biotechnology, new materials and nanotechnologies and other areas. The successful applicants include both universities as well as other academic institutions.

Approved special-purpose funds will be provided by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic from the program INTER-EXCELLENCE (LT), INTER-ACTION (LTA) focusing on international cooperation in research, development and innovations.
The initial call for proposals was published by MEYS on 22 March 2019 and clarified on 30 April 2019, with the deadline for submitting project applications until 31 July 2019.
On Indian side the call for joint proposals was published on 15 March 2019, with the possibility of submitting applications for projects until 31 July 2019.
The list of supported projects was published on the Czech side on 17 December 2019 with the requirement to submit the documents proving eligibility of the proposal latest by 13 January 2020.
On the Indian side, the list of supported projects was published on 20 December 2019.
Within the INTER-ACTION program, the Czech Republic is realizing international research cooperation not only with India, but also with the USA, Russia, China, Israel and Germany.
