UPR47: Czech Republic to join seven states´ periodic review

The 47th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the intergovernmental mechanism that examines the human rights records of UN member states, will take place from 4 to 15 November 2024.
During the 47th session of the UPR, the Czech Republic will participate in reviews of Norway, Albania, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Qatar, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Nicaragua. Other countries under review are the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Portugal, Bhutan, Domenica, Brunei Darussalam and Equatorial Guinea.
The UN Human Rights Council will adopt the final reports of the reviews at its 58th session in spring 2025, which should lead to the implementation of the recommendations adopted. The next Universal Periodic Review of these countries will take place in five years. In the meantime, reviews of other UN Member States will take place.
