UPR46: Czech Republic to join nine states periodic review

The 46th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the intergovernmental mechanism that examines the human rights records of UN member states, will take place from 29 April to 10 May 2024.
During the 46th session of the UPR, the Czech Republic will participate in reviews of New Zealand, Afghanistan, Chile, Yemen, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Eritrea, Vietnam and Cambodia. Other countries under review are Cyprus, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Comoros and the Dominican Republic.
The UN Human Rights Council will adopt the final reports of the reviews at its 57th session this autumn, which should lead to the implementation of the recommendations adopted. The next Universal Periodic Review of these countries will take place in five years. In the meantime, reviews of other UN Member States will take place.
