The 37th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), a mechanism examining human rights situations in all UN Member States, is held in Geneva from 18 to 29 January 2021.
Czechia will participate in reviews of Lebanon, Australia, Nepal, Oman, Austria, Myanmar, Rwanda and Georgia.
Other countries under review are Micronesia, Mauritania, Nauru, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Sao Tome and Principe.
The videostream is available at webtv.un.org.
The UN Human Rights Council will adopt a report from each country’s review at its 47th session in June 2021 to provide a basis for implementation of adopted recommendations. The next universal periodic review of these countries will take place in approximately 5 years. In the meantime, the remaining UN Member States will be reviewed.
