Czechia to review human rights situation in seven countries

From 28 April to 9 May 2025, the 49th session of the Working Group of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the UN intergovernmental mechanism that examines the human rights situation in member countries, will take place in Geneva.

Czechia will present its human rights recommendations to Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Spain, Kenya, Armenia, Turkey, and Kuwait. For the review of Kuwait, Czechia is a member of the Troika, together with Benin and Thailand, and is participating in the preparation of the final report on the recommendations presented. 

The other countries under review are Kiribati, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Lesotho, Sweden, Grenada, and Guyana.
