Czech Republic at the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council

The 55th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council is taking place from 26 February to 5 April. The Czech Republic will attend the session as an observer and will continue to actively participate in the negotiation of resolutions.

Over sixty discussions on human rights situations and issues are on the agenda, including the adoption of the conclusions of the Universal Periodic Review of 14 countries. In addition, nearly forty resolutions will be discussed and voted on by the Council at the end of the session. During the session, the Czech Republic, together with EU countries, will table resolutions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Myanmar and Belarus, as well as thematic resolutions on the rights of the child and religious freedoms. It will also support, inter alia, a resolution on the human rights situation in Ukraine in the context of Russian aggression, to be submitted by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine.
