For the second time, the Czech School without Borders Geneva, with the support of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic, organized an event from the series of stories Memory of Nations of the Post Bellum organization, represented by Tomáš Spáčil as moderator.
This time the evening focused on the context and motivations for emigration from Czechoslovakia after August 1968. Integral part of the event was a discussion with Eva Svoboda from the International Committee of the Red Cross and Gabriela Boiteux Pilna from the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic about their life experiences, constant moving and the feelings about where is their home.
On Saturday morning, an interactive workshop for pupils of the Czech School without Borders took place. The programme was inspired by real stories from the sporting environment. It brought the participants into the world of Czechoslovak hockey of the 1960s.
Post Bellum is a non-profit organization that has been searching for and recording memories of witnesses of the key moments in the 20th century since 2001. Its flagship project has become the Memory of Nations, one of Europe's most extensive collections of memories of individuals, photographs, diaries and various archival materials from the totalitarian period of the 20th century, which is accessible to the general public as an online archive.
