In his opening remarks, the Czech Ambassador Karel Beran thanked the guests for their cooperation and support, and expressed his appreciation for the open and friendly atmosphere within the diplomatic community in Geneva.

He also highlighted the Czech Republic’s active engagement in multilateral cooperation — including within the UN Human Rights Council and its support for humanitarian organizations — as well as the current candidacy of the Czech Republic for the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for the 2027–2030 term. The musical program was performed jointly by the Czech pianist Vendula Matějková and Swiss violinist Laurence Favre. The two artists presented a program of classical music of a high artistic caliber, underscoring the importance of cultural diplomacy as a means of deepening international understanding and dialogue.

The concerts provided significant support for the Czech Republic’s candidacy for the ITU Council — particularly among non-traditional partners — while simultaneously showcasing the Czech culture and enhancing the country’s reputation within the international environment of Geneva.
