Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines, an extraordinary figure in the Czech expatriate community in northern England, received her first Czech passport on 12 December. At a traditional pre-Christmas gathering of leading Czech women in the region, the document was presented to her by Consul General David Frous.

The ceremonial handover concluded a several-month process involving archival and registry verifications in both the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, enabling Lady Grenfell-Baines to meet all legal requirements for the issuance of her first Czech identity document.

Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines is a recipient of the Gratias Agit Award for her contribution to promoting the good name of the Czech Republic and, this year, was also awarded the Karel Kramář Medal by Prime Minister Petr Fiala. She continues to play an important role in strengthening Czech-British relations, including through sharing her life story as one of the Winton children.
