FAQ – Paper Form Registration into the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS)

!!REGISTRATION ENDS 30th June 2021!!

Detailed information on the residence of EU citizens in the UK after Brexit can be found on the British government website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/eu-settlement-scheme-factsheet.cs

I do not have the option to obtain a valid proof of identity for online registration for Settlement Scheme until June 30th, 2021. What do I do now? You can apply by a paper form:

  1. Where can I get a paper form to register into the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS)?
    1. Download the form on the link here.
    2. Or contact Home Office – Settlement Resolution Centre at +44 (0)300 123 7379 (Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 20:00).
    3. Explain the reasons why you cannot submit a form online and you are therefore asking for a paper form (ex. The processing period for CZ passports abroad is longer than 120 days as evidenced by the GK Manchester written confirmation available to download here.)
  2. I have received a paper form. What should I do?
    1. Explain and back up in detail the reasons why you cannot submit a valid proof of identity. Details can be found on the pages 55 – 58 of the official Home Office guidelines from 06.04.2021.
    2. You can attach the GK Manchester written confirmation about processing periods of CZ passports abroad (download link)
    3. Fill out the entire form!
    4. Attach all supporting evidence and arguments why the “settled status” or “preliminary settled status” should be granted to you.
    5. Attach your proof of identity (even after expiry) or other documents that prove your identity and citizenship (driver’s license, birth certificate, marriage certificate, a card proving your national insurance number “NINO” etc.). A list of all available ID documents can be found on the page 58.
  3. Where can I find help with filling out the forms?
    1. Contact charities and volunteer organizations that can help you with filling out the forms for free.
    2. The list of organizations within the consular district of GK Manchester can be found here.
    3. A complete list of these organizations can be found on the Gov.uk website: https://www.gov.uk./government/publications/eu-settlement-scheme-community-support-for-vulnerable-citizens/list-of-organisations
  4. More information about the individual steps can be found on the Brexit official website: https://op.europa.eu/cs/publication-detail/-/publication/d5c0ac34-b689-11ea-bb7a-01aa75ed71a1
