State reception to the establishment of independent Czechoslovak state

The state reception on the occasion of the Day of the Independent Czechoslovak State took place on 18 October 2022 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London.

The reception was opened with the Czech and British national anthems and a speeches by Ambassador Maria Chatardová and UK's Secretary Minister at the Department of International Trade, The Rt Greg Hands, who delivered part of his speech in the Czech language. Mr Hands studied the Czech language at the University of Cambridge, he also graduated from the Summer School of the Czech Language at Charles University.

The annual event brought together over 250 guests from the ranks of diplomacy, politics, culture, business, as well as prominent figures from the ranks of compatriots. The event was accompanied by live music: Kryštof Kohout played the violin and Luke Lally Maguire piano. Only dishes of traditional Czech cuisine were served, as well as traditional drinks, such as Budweiser Budvar beer and Moravian wines.

By the entrance to the Embassy, guests had the opportunity to view not only the new electric Škoda Enyaq electric, but also the historic model Škoda 422.
