Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek visited London on 29 - 30 May

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr Lubomír Zaorálek visited London on 29-30 May during which he had a working lunch with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague. Minister Zaorálek also met with Gareth Thomas MP, Shadow Minister for Europe, and Tom Scholar, the Prime Minister´s Advisor on EU and international issues. At the Czech Embassy Mr Zaorálek attended the launch of a publication on investing in the Czech Republic. Later at a dinner organized by the Czech Ambassador he met with British businesspeople, policymakers and intellectuals. Minister gave interview to The Financial Times, The Independent and Reuters.

Thursday, 29 May

On his arrival in London, Minister Zaorálek met with Foreign Secretary William Hague at Carlton House. During the working lunch they discussed current political issues – mainly Ukraine and energy policy. They also talked about the EU after the European Parliament elections.

In Westminster Minister Zaorálek met with Gareth Thomas MP, Shadow Minister for Europe.

At the Czech Embassy Lubomír Zaorálek attended the launch of the publication “Invest in the Czech Republic” published by Lord Evans, UK businessman and member of the House of Lords. This brand new publication introduces opportunities for investment in the Czech Republic. At a dinner hosted by the Czech Ambassador, Minister Zaorálek met with British business people, policymakers and intellectuals.
