Czech Heart Day at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London

On 25 October 2018, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London organised a specialist conference “Czech Heart Day” with the aim to introduce the Czech healthcare and cardiology to the British public. The conference was followed by a business seminar “Czech Medical Devices Day” where 10 Czech Companies introduced to their British partners their innovative products and discussed future cooperation within the Brexit scheme.
The primary aim of the conference was to present and discuss at expert level the most recent experiences in cardiology, its successes, current affiliations and future visions. Six research teams formed by one Czech and one British specialist participated in the scientific session, as the core of the programme was a series of 30-minute presentations focused on the existing cooperation between the Czech and the British physicians in the given area dealing with the human heart. As part of the programme, Ambassador Sečka made an award to four extraordinary personalities who have greatly contributed to the relationship between the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom in the field of cardiology.
The event was organised under the patronage of the Czech Society of Cardiology and its President, Professor Miloš Táborský, who opened the conference with his speech. Among the presenting British specialists were the following experts:

The conference was organised as a part of the series of events called “Czech Week in London” with the aim to commemorate the founding of Czechoslovakia in 1918. The week introduced an ambitious plan to present the Czech Republic as an attractive destination, as a partner which has plenty to offer, and as a country, not only with many original products and cultural, artistic and historical values and standards but, also and especially, a country of unique ideas and approaches.
