Meeting of Czech Startups at the Embassy in London

More than 60 Czech and Slovak startups, investors, and representatives of the innovation ecosystem gathered on 8 June at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London for the CZ/SK Tech Founders Meet-up. The event provided a platform for establishing concrete business connections, sharing experience, and supporting companies entering the UK market.

The event was jointly organised by CzechInvest, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, the British Embassy in Prague, and ZAKA VC on the occasion of the opening of this year’s London Tech Week.

Participants included, among others, finalists of the Creative Business Czechia programme as well as startups NABERIUS and FLAE Robotics. Representatives of the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC), the Opero accelerator, Enterprise Europe Network, Slovakia’s SAPIE, and the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT) also took part.

Welcome remarks were delivered by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom, Václav Bartuška, and the Director of CzechInvest’s UK office, Martin Partl. The programme featured practical insights into entering the UK market, including a presentation by Tony Kypreos (DBT), a fireside chat with Peter Ondruška (Coram AI) moderated by Andrej Petrus (ZAKA Ventures), and a pitch session by ten startups. The event concluded with networking involving investors and partner organisations.

The meeting took place at the beginning of London Tech Week (8–10 June 2026), one of the world’s leading technology events, which brings together tens of thousands of innovators, investors, and technology leaders from over 100 countries. For Czech startups, it represents an important opportunity to build international partnerships and strengthen their position in the global market.
