The Czech Republic was strongly represented through Brnoregion Microscopy, a platform bringing together companies, research organisations, universities and the public sector to support the continued development of the microscopy ecosystem in Brno and the South Moravian Region. The platform is coordinated by the JIC innovation agency in cooperation with the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce and other partners.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London was represented at the congress by its economic diplomat, who met with Czech companies and research institutions, representatives of the Royal Microscopical Society, members of the Czech and European microscopy communities, and UK partners. The discussions focused on raising the profile of Czech microscopy expertise in the United Kingdom and identifying further opportunities for cooperation in research, innovation and advanced technologies.

The programme also included a networking event at the Brnoregion Microscopy stand, bringing together Czech participants and international partners. The event connected leading Czech manufacturers of electron microscopes, research organisations, universities and professional associations with partners from the UK and other countries, helping to establish new contacts and strengthen links between academia, research and industry.

The Czech Republic, and Brno and the South Moravian Region in particular, ranks among the world’s important centres of electron microscopy. Brno is also one of the leading global hubs for the manufacture of electron microscopes. Over more than seventy years, the region has developed a strong ecosystem linking industry, research organisations, universities and the public sector.

The Embassy’s participation in IMC21 marks a first step towards closer cooperation with Brnoregion Microscopy, the Royal Microscopical Society and other UK partners. Discussions held during the congress confirmed strong interest in Czech technologies, cutting-edge research and innovation. The Embassy will continue to support Czech companies and research organisations in the UK market and to develop joint initiatives in science, research and advanced technologies.
