Ambassador Libor Sečka was in Birmingham to promote Czech manufactures of components for the automotive, aerospace and engineering industries who were introducing themselves to British partners at the Advanced Engineering Fair at the NEC in Birmingham from 2 – 4 November 2016. While in Birmingham the Ambassador also took the opportunity to meet the Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council, Cllr Ian Ward.
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the UK Mr. Libor Sečka visited Birmingham in the West Midlands on 2 November to meet and support Czech companies that were taking part in the Advanced Engineering fair.
The Czech stand, organised by the London office of the Czech Trade Agency, hosted the following Czech companies: ALUCAST, ATEK, PBS GROUP, RAY SERVICE, SPOLCHEMIE, SYSCAE, VÍTKOVICE VÝZKUM A VÝVOJ. The companies BONET INDUSTRIES and the LAKUM GROUP were unable to attend but made their catalogues available for visitors to take. Some of these companies already have established contracts in the UK, while others were presenting themselves in the UK for the first time.
The Advanced Engineering Fair is a leading British exhibition focused on the whole supply chain for the automotive and aerospace industries and the connected composite materials and metal sectors. The event offered the opportunity for the Czech companies to present their highly specialised products and services and to highlight the advanced nature of their manufacturing abilities to car makers producing vehicles in the UK (Aston Martin, Bentley, Honda, Jaguar - Land Rover, Mini, Nissan, Rolls-Royce, Toyota and Vauxhall as well as to specialist manufacturers in the racing industry), and to parts suppliers in the motor industry. The companies were also reaching out to the aerospace sector, an area in which some of the Czech firms already supply some of the largest names in the business.
During his visit to Birmingham, Ambassador Sečka also held talks with Cllr Ian Ward, Deputy Leader of the City Council regarding the possibilities for cultural cooperation. He also met representatives of the Czech community in the West Midlands.
