
Celebration of the Czech Armed Forces Day in Ljubljana

On June, 27 Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ljubljana organized Czech Armed Forces Day, which was held at the Slovenian National Gallery.
Celebration was started with the Ceremonial of bringing the flag of the Czech Republic by the Honor Guard of the Czech Armed Forces. The event was attended as well by the Honor Guard of the French Navy dislocated in the Koper port on the military boat Pluton. This parade was followed by the speeches of the host H.E. Mr. Juraj Chmiel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, and the guest of honor H.E. Mrs. Florence Ferrari, Ambassador of the French Republic.
In his speech, Czech Ambassador mentioned that the first independent Czechoslovak Armed Forces swore and allegiance to the future Czechoslovak Republic in the French city Darney in 1918. By this occasion, Czech Ambassador also unofficially took over the Presidency of EU Council from his counterpart Madame Ambassador Ferrari.
After the two speeches took place a concert of the Czech Military Band Olomouc, which performed fourteen worldwide known songs. Evening ended up with a glass of wine hosted by the Czech Ambassador.
It was already a second official event in Slovenia where the Honor Guard of the Czech Armed Forces was presented. First one took part in October 2019.
Due to the COVID-19 Czech Embassy unfortunately couldn’t organized another two events in 2020 and 2021.
With coordination of the Czech Embassy in Ljubljana and Ambassador Chmiel, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Zagreb invited the Honor Guard of the Czech Armed Forces and Military Band Olomouc to Croatia to organized celebrations of the Czech Armed Forces Day in Zagreb on June, 28.
