During the talks, the head of Czech diplomacy repeatedly condemned the unacceptable actions of the Belarusian police against peaceful protesters and supported the fundamental democratic rights of Belarus's citizens. "The only pathway to a solution is real dialogue between the government and the people," said Minister Petříček. He also acquainted Latushko with the Czech government's decision to provide aid in support of humanitarian and civic activities in Belarus. Pavel Latushko is one of the seven members of the presidium of the Coordination Council, which organises the process of overcoming the crisis in Belarus. However, the current Belarusian leadership is refusing to engage in any dialogue. On the contrary, under the repressive measures, all members of the Coordination Council's presidium have been arrested or forced to leave Belarus, with the sole exception of Nobel Prize winner for literature Svetlana Alexievich. "We are watching with concern the arrests and deportations of members of the Coordination Council's presidium," Minister Petříček said.
