Traveling During the State of Emergency

Important notice: In line with the Resolution of the Government No. 387, as of April 14th, 2020 only selected categories of persons may cross the borders in the intervals shorter than 14 days - these categories are cross-border workers in health and social services, workers of integrated rescue system (IRS) and workers of critical infrastructure service. As a new rule, during the crossing of the border these persons must have for the purpose of work/work performance abroad apart from a confirmation for a cross-border worker in health, social services, IRS and critical infrastructure also a diplomatic note of an embassy of the country where they travel for work (if they travel to Austria, then they must have a note issued by the Embassy of Austria in Prague, if they travel to Slovakia, they must have a note issued by the Embassy of Slovakia in Prague, etc.) This note shall confirm that the given country, specifically the employer for whom the person works, shall adopt such measures at the workplace which shall prevent the spread of the virus SARS CoV-2 (e.g. wearing of protective respiratory system devices). In cases you belong to one of the abovementioned categories, we recommend to contact your employer who shall request the issuing of the note at the respective embassy.

Traveling during the state of emergency
From March 16th, 2020 until the end of the state of emergency, the ban to travel from the Czech Republic is applied on citizens of the Czech Republic. Foreigners residing in the Czech Republic with temporary residence over 90 days or permanent residence are allowed to leave the Czech Republic, however, they will not be allowed to re-enter the country until the end of the state of emergency. The Czech Republic’s entry ban is applied on all foreigners. The only exception is foreigners with temporary residence over 90 days or permanent residence in the Czech Republic who were abroad at the moment of the declaration of the state of emergency.

Notification of intend arrival to the Czech Republic (for foreigners)
Effective from 7 April 2020 at 00:00 till 11 May 00:00, the Czech Government imposed an obligation on all persons repatriating in the Czech Republic to notify in advance the date and manner of repatriation, ie departure back to the Czech Republic. The reporting duty is imposed for the duration of quarantine measures in connection with travel from abroad.
