Working visit of Minister for European Affairs of Sweden Hans Dahlgren in the Czech Republic

 

Minister for European Affairs of Sweden Hans Dahlgren paid a working visit to the Czech Republic on 10 June 2019. On behalf of the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister for European Affairs Aleš Chmelař had talks with the distinguished guest at the Czernin Palace.

Deputy Minister for European Affairs Aleš Chmelař and the Swedish guest informed each other on the current political situation in respective countries. Both interlocutors described bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Sweden as excellent. There are no unsettled issues. As both countries are members of the European Union, the partners focused on European issues, such as situation after the European Parliament elections,  Brexit and its impact on the European cooperation, single market and its completion, Multiannual Financial Framework etc. They also talked about a regional cooperation of the Nordic and Visegrad 4 countries.  In the second half of 2022, the Czech Republic as the President of the Council of the European Union will closely cooperate with Sweden and France within a so-called Presidency Trio.
